I've been noodling around with the Rust programming language. Mainly just writing a glorified CS 101 console app, some console I/O, some file I/O, a little SQLite database. I'm not the kind of coder that likes doing this for fun in their spare time, but I wanted a little doohickey to make something easier for me, and so I thought hey why not try out this whole Rust thing.
Not super in love with it, so far.

Some of my earliest memories of interacting on the internet was having to listen to (well, read) Mac nerds drone on and on about how much better Marathon was than Doom. Well let me tell you: ... it is okay. Ahead of its time in terms of the storytelling, even though "ahead of its time" here refers to like, readable text blurbs interspersed throughout the level. But the weapons, enemy, and map design can't hold a candle to the energy and dynamism of Doom.
