I've only read a few of Murakami's novels now, but this one is pretty emblematic of the experience. Kafka is either an intense, bookish teenager with an unfortunate curse, or maybe just a sociopath. Nakata is an old man, "not very bright", who can talk to cats. Kafka runs away from home, and Nakata goes on a quest. The whole thing is pretty Oedipal.

This is a bonafide classic Canadian artist and album. I like her singing but I the songs are just in one ear and out the other.

The Weeknd is always an artist that is sort of on in the background, this is the first album I actually bought. It's kind of more than the sum of its parts, always a nice jam in the background but nothing stands out.
