Curling is a pretty good way to spend your winter. Like anything social, though, it builds a culture around it, along with a set of unwritten rules of etiquette. Some of it is weirdly regional, but a lot of it is common sense.
One big no-no, that feels like common sense to me, anyway, is that you should never visibly celebrate a missed shot by your opponent.

It's like if the Secretary of Defence of the USA in 1998 couldn't beat Starcraft on hard mode so they decided to pay Blizzard 4 billion dollars to put the Protoss AI in charge of the nuclear arsenal.

Any rating system only needs four stars:
Any more nuance than that in your rating system is lost in noise and better captured in your actual writing. Half stars are for cowards. Rating things out of 10 is for the faux-intellegentsia. Rating things out of 10.0 with a decimal point should be illegal.
