So this was supposed to be the first game for my previously "Thursday Mixed" team at a new club on Wednesdays. The move between clubs is a long story. My other teams are still at my "home" club. But my teammates on this team are basically my best friends now, so I'm moving along with them even though it means paying for two club's worth of membership fees.

Anyway so this was the big first game at a new club for us, and the other team more or less no-showed. They did call our skip in advance, but like, one whole hour in advance. We decided to show up anyway, use our ice time for practice, and have dinner and drinks together for fun. Like I said, these are my friends.

So we won by default. Two best words in the English language, and all. But it'll be a couple more weeks before we really know how we'll do in the new environment.
