What a way to run a rodeo

Evening Men, Round 1, Game 1

  • Win (skip)
  • Sheet 3 (N)
  • Blue Rocks

First men's night of the new season. Everyone played great, and the other team was kind of novice/recreational, so it was kind of a blowout.

Kind of the reason I'm starting to log this is to force myself to do more reflection on ice and rock conditions. Coincidentally, I happened to be on the same sheet and had the same colour rocks as my last game. So I'm happy to be able to test my theory that the blue 8 was a bit fast, and I think that was also true tonight. Of course, maybe now that I'm doing this, I'm just giving myself preconceptions that I'll be biased towards confirming.

Notes

  • Speed of ice was pretty normal
  • A bit of the usual straight runs on the outside
  • Unlike last game though, more noticably straight coming towards the glass than away
  • Blue 8 rock seemed a bit faster than 7
