Any rating system only needs four stars:

• One star: Bad
• Two stars: Okay
• Three stars: Good
• Four stars: Great

Any more nuance than that in your rating system is lost in noise and better captured in your actual writing. Half stars are for cowards. Rating things out of 10 is for the faux-intellegentsia. Rating things out of 10.0 with a decimal point should be illegal.
